ASU Men’s Lacrosse Names Joe Kostolansky Assistant Coach
He will serve as the defensive coordinator under Coach Malone.
He served as an assistant coach at the University of Vermont in 2007 and 2008 and was primarily responsible for the Catamounts’ offense.
In 2006 he helped lead Nazareth to the ECAC Championship.
The highlight of Kostolansky’s two seasons at Skidmore was the Thoroughbreds first conference championship in 2005 and an NCAA Tournament appearance, the first in school history. Kostolansky and Head Coach Terry Corcoran were named the 2005 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.
Head Coach Chris Malone said “We are very pleased to have Joe on our staff and look forward to his contributions at ASU. I look forward to working with him on a daily basis to help the program meet its goals for the 2010 season.”
Kostolansky is a 2003 graduate of Hofstra University where he was a four-year letter winner at attack and participated in four NCAA Division I tournaments. Kostolansky served as team captain his senior year and was a two-time 1st Team All-Conference selection. He played four seasons of Major League Lacrosse with the Rochester Rattlers, Boston Cannons, and San Francisco Dragons. He is a graduate of Corning East High School (NY) and was a North/South All-American in 1998.
Arizona State University Men’s Lacrosse Team is a member of the Men’s Collegiate Lacrosse Association and plays in the Southwest Lacrosse Conference. For more information, click Lax Devils
